The wooden floor can be said to be the hottest Crispy fried chicken in the home world! Wooden flooring has the advantages of warmth, softness, natural comfort, sound insulation, comfortable foot feel, and anti slip safety, and is increasingly favored by consumers. However, when it comes to choosing flooring, we cannot be careless. Adhering to the principle of sharing your worries, I will chat with you about how to choose wooden flooring. Too many families have installed it incorrectly!
Wooden flooring refers to flooring made of wood. Wooden flooring produced in China is mainly divided into four categories: solid wood flooring, laminated wood flooring, solid wood composite flooring, and bamboo flooring.

Basic knowledge of types of wooden flooring
1: Solid wood flooring
Solid wood flooring, as the name suggests, is produced by cutting and processing natural wood, which is processed from the same tree material from the surface to the bottom, and then coated with several layers of paint on the surface (the minimum standard is 3 layers of primer and 3 layers of topcoat, while the maximum is 5 layers and 9 layers).
Advantages: Natural patterns, comfortable foot feel, warm in winter and cool in summer, beautiful and natural, environmentally friendly, with a natural fragrance.
Disadvantages: Afraid of corrosion from chemical substances such as acid and alkali; And it is susceptible to invasion by bacteria, fungi, and insects, with a short lifespan; Easy to burn and require attention to maintenance; In addition, solid wood flooring requires a high degree of dryness and cannot be used in places with high humidity, as it is prone to deformation; Due to the dry climate in the north, the stability of solid wood flooring can be affected. Therefore, when using solid wood flooring in the north, attention should be paid to the occurrence of drying shrinkage.
Generally speaking, composite flooring is more commonly used in northern households, while solid wood flooring is more commonly used in households south of the Yangtze River.
Environmental performance: Due to the use of natural materials without any decoration, solid wood flooring always maintains a natural texture and natural color. The paint is also processed by the factory, so there is basically no indoor pollution problem, making it one of the few green building materials products.
Solid wood flooring has better environmental performance among wooden flooring, suitable for parent-child families with children and the elderly who prioritize environmental protection.
Price: Price is the key factor determining the choice. Solid wood flooring costs over 200/square meter, and with the addition of keel, the installation fee is over 250/square meter. Note that this does not depend on the brand, but mainly on the type of wood that determines the price. Longan may be a stable and low-priced wood species currently available, with a standard A-class board of less than 200 to one square meter. The more expensive teak wood costs over 1000 yuan per square meter.
2: Reinforced wood flooring
Reinforced wood flooring is generally composed of four layers of composite materials, with a wear-resistant layer on the surface, which is a surface paper containing wear-resistant materials such as aluminum oxide; The second layer is the decorative layer, which is a printed paper made by computer simulation; The third layer is made of artificial board substrate, often using high-density fiberboard, medium density fiberboard, or high-quality particle board with special shapes; The fourth layer is the bottom layer, which is a balanced moisture-proof layer. Generally, thick paper with a certain strength is impregnated in melamine or phenolic resin to block moisture and moisture from the ground, thereby protecting the floor from the influence of ground moisture and further strengthening the moisture-proof and balancing functions of the bottom layer.
Advantages: Wear resistant, not easily deformed, easy to clean, diverse, corrosion-resistant, acid and alkali resistant, anti termite, moisture-proof, anti expansion, safe, hygienic, comfortable, convenient, flat, meeting the needs of geothermal heating.
Disadvantages: Poor comfort and lack of environmental friendliness.
Reinforced flooring, also known as "diamond board", has excellent surface hardness and wear resistance, and is commonly used in public places such as shopping malls. So, it's basically just for casual use, and coupled with the cheap price, it's not a big deal to knock on.
Reinforced wood flooring has high wear resistance and is easy to maintain! For friends who have pets at home, especially those who like to keep large pets such as Samoyed and Alaska, choosing laminate flooring is very suitable. After all, these 'behemoths' have great destructive power when they move, and only reinforced flooring can withstand such strength. Moreover, reinforced composite flooring not only has the foot feel of solid wood flooring, but also has natural texture and color, with a wider variety of colors than solid wood flooring.
However, when it comes to reinforced wood flooring, it is important to be aware of water. If water falls to the ground, it should be wiped dry immediately. If it is soaked for a long time and seeps into the gaps, it can cause problems such as floor expansion.
Environmental performance: Like laminate flooring, three-layer solid wood, and multi-layer solid wood, it is necessary to choose products that meet the environmental standards of different brands. Generally, products that meet E1 and E0 environmental indicators are selected.
Price: Reinforced flooring is priced at 70/square meter or more. Small brands can be cheaper, but personally, I think it's better to choose a brand as it provides some protection. Because the issue with laminate flooring requires selecting products that meet environmental standards, it is recommended to choose well-known brands, which typically cost over 100 yuan per square meter. Reinforced flooring is usually installed by merchants without the need for keels, which saves related costs in the installation process. Therefore, the overall cost is much cheaper than solid wood flooring.
3: Solid wood composite flooring
Solid wood composite flooring is a replacement product of solid wood flooring. It involves sawing, planing, and cutting high-quality solid wood into single pieces of surface, core, and bottom panels. Then, based on the mechanical principles of different types of materials, the three types of single pieces are arranged vertically, horizontally, and vertically using glue, and pressed into boards at high temperatures to control the anisotropy of the wood.
It can be divided into three categories: three-layer solid wood composite, multi-layer solid wood composite, and fine wood composite. Three layer solid wood composite flooring is generally used for home decoration.
Advantages: Comfortable foot feel, good insulation performance, easy installation and maintenance, stable structure, good installation effect, not easily damaged, affordable price, resistant to dirt, fire, heat, wear, water, impact, easy to maintain and clean, fragrant color, environmentally friendly.
Disadvantages: The wear resistance is not as high as that of reinforced flooring; Some floors have poor environmental protection.
If you have pets, never choose solid wood or composite flooring. Especially for pets who defecate and urinate at home, over time it becomes dark. If it is a three-layer composite floor with wood wax oil surface, it cannot withstand the daily play of pets. Don't feel sorry for it at that time!
Environmental performance: The choice between three-layer solid wood and multi-layer solid wood depends on the environmental compliance level of different brand products. Generally, products that meet E1 and E0 environmental indicators are selected.
Price:
Three layer solid wood flooring: The same type of wood is definitely slightly cheaper than solid wood flooring, but due to brand and other factors, you will hear that the price difference is very large, usually above 150/square meter, and expensive ones can also be sold for over 1000 square meters.
Multi layer solid wood flooring: Based on criss crossing multi-layer boards, the surface is covered with precious wood. Generally, this layer is thinner than three layers of solid wood, so the price is relatively cheaper (regardless of brand factors). In theory, it is cheaper than three-layer solid wood, but it is difficult to compare. I suggest everyone compare prices from three different sources.
When installing underfloor heating at home, it is better to use solid wood composite flooring. Solid wood composite flooring overcomes the wet expansion and shrinkage characteristics of solid wood flooring to a certain extent, and is more stable and reinforced than solid wood flooring. It is not easy to crack or deform. At the same time, solid wood composite flooring also retains the pattern of solid wood flooring, which is very beautiful and easier to maintain. Its service life is also longer.
4: Bamboo flooring
Bamboo flooring is mainly made from natural bamboo, which is chopped into bamboo strips, the inner and outer skins are removed, and after more than twenty processes, the bamboo pulp is removed. The bamboo slices are then bonded with a binder and hot pressed to form a raw material. After three layers of paint and infrared drying, it is made. The current situation in the home furnishing market is that bamboo flooring is positioned as a decorative material for residential, hotel, and office spaces, mainly used for ground decoration.
Advantages: Warm in winter and cool in summer; Fresh and elegant style, with good decorative effect; Small color difference; environment protection Anti moth and anti mold.
Disadvantages: Poor stability, easy to be affected by moisture and insects. Attention should be paid to moisture prevention and proper maintenance.
Although bamboo flooring has undergone drying treatment, it is still prone to corrosion and even insect infestation in humid areas or weather, making it difficult to maintain and prone to deformation. Therefore, it is not recommended for everyone to choose this type of floor.
Price: Bamboo flooring: The price range of 150-200/square meter is relatively high, but nowadays the market share of bamboo flooring is small, especially in the third and fourth tier, because there are fewer brands sold and fewer people using it.
Environmental performance: Bamboo flooring, which is mostly made of natural materials, is ranked after solid wood flooring, followed by three-layer solid wood, multi-layer solid wood, and laminate flooring. However, bamboo flooring can be divided into two levels based on its structure: laminated, vertical pressed, and profiled pressed. These manufacturing techniques have the same environmental rating as reinforced flooring, which is divided into two levels: E1 and E0. Other standards are the same as solid wood flooring.
Adequate budget, pursuit of grade, suitable local climate, choose solid wood flooring; Budget is limited, and children often throw toys on the ground. You can choose environmentally friendly reinforced flooring; To install underfloor heating and pursue a comfortable foot feel, solid wood composite flooring can be chosen; Bamboo flooring can be used as a backup option to replace solid wood flooring when the budget is limited.
