Types of fireproof boards

2024/6/13

Fireproof board, also known as fire-resistant board, is a type of decorative material that is mainly made of siliceous or calcareous materials, mixed with a certain proportion of fiber materials, lightweight aggregates, adhesives, and chemical additives through steam pressing technology. It is a durable type of board. So, what are the types of fireproof boards? Let's take a look together below!

1、 According to the different materials, it can be divided into two categories: organic fireproof board and inorganic fireproof board.

① Organic fireproof board

Organic fireproof board, mainly composed of organic materials.

Features: Resilient, both fire-resistant and aesthetically pleasing, expensive price. Fire resistance level B1 (flame retardant level).

Application: Mainly used in projects with corrosion resistance and fire prevention requirements, such as power plants, chemical enterprises, and steel smelting enterprises.

② Inorganic fireproof board

Inorganic fireproof board, mainly composed of inorganic materials. Such as glass magnesium board, cement board, gypsum board, etc.

Features: No toughness, able to drill and hold, priced at half of organic fireproof board. Fire rating A1 (non combustible).

Application: Mainly used for indoor decoration and exterior walls in fire prevention construction.

2、 According to different densities, it can be divided into low-density fireproof board, medium density fireproof board, and high-density fireproof board.

① Low density fireproof board

<450(kg/m)

② Medium density fireproof board

450-800(kg/m)

③ High density fireproof board

>800(kg/m)

3、 According to different thicknesses, fireproof boards can be divided into fireproof thin boards and fireproof thick boards.

① Fireproof sheet

Thickness: 5-20 (mm). Mainly used as panels for light steel keel partition walls, ceiling panels, and decorative panels for steel beams and columns coated with non expanding fireproof coatings.

② Fireproof thickness

Thickness: 20-50 (mm). Directly used for rigid structure fire protection engineering.
